I am on a new creative journey, the next chapter after a photography interval that began in 2017. Prior to the picture taking, I worked in the TV & film industry for 25 years as a production accountant in Los Angeles and NYC specializing in episodic series and indie features. I attended the University of California, San Diego and graduated with a BA in Visual Arts in 1986.

2019: In Praise of the Shadow: Juror’s Choice, National Juried Photography Exhibition, Academy Center of the Arts.
2018: Perpetual Tea, or, Preparing Our Minds for Anything: Best in Show, Asian Fusion Art Exhibition, Bower Center for the Arts. The installation was an offering of 15 one minute meditation videos displayed as a tea ceremony in a tatami room.
2016: It All Boils Down to Being a Good and Meaningful Person in the Ways I Know How: First Prize, Photography Contest, Womankind magazine. The theme of the contest was “Simple Living” and the photo was published in Issue #8 and distributed throughout the UK, Australia, NZ, Europe, Asia, the US, and Canada.
2015: Should City Bakery Hot Chocolate Be Drunk With or Without a Homemade Marshmallow?: First Prize, Hot Chocolate Essay Contest, The City Bakery, NYC.
1987: Buttered Side Down: Premiered, Opening Night at the Chicago Lesbian and Gay International Film Festival at the Music Box Theatre.

2013-2017: Directed 26 short videos with Danielle Loizou.
2012: Directed the music video for “It's the Disease” by iamdeadsmiles58.
2010-2011: Directed 10 short videos while living in Washington Heights, NYC.

2009: Became a member of ASCAP by virtue of “April Sun.”
2009: Created a melancholy cover of “How Soon Is Now” by The Smiths.
2006: “April Sun” premiered on KCRW in Santa Monica, CA thanks to Chris Douridas and his show “New Ground.”

Miscellany

2019: Created a virtual photography exhibition based on the series "Is It Ok if I Come Over?" and produced a companion book to support the experience.
2017: Moved to Virginia with Dee (formerly Danielle) and created the photo poem "My Former and Future Self" to commemorate the journey.
2013: Met Danielle at the French Roast on 85th & Broadway.
2011: Sold my first piece of art—an oil painting—to Yvette Stapleton in Harlem. The work is titled Vertically as Fire Horizontally as Water.
1995: Moved to Manhattan, NYC.

Work

2019-2020: Taught digital photography and filmmaking at Randolph College.
2018-2019: Staff photographer for Riverviews Artspace.
1995-2016: Hired by Universal Television (1995) as the production accountant on the TV series “New York Undercover” produced in New York City. Continued working as an IATSE Local 161 production accountant in NYC until 2016. Took a break from production accounting to work with the indie film production company Killer Films from 2002-2006 as their manager of finance, accounting, and human resources.
1990-1995: Hired by Viacom Productions in 1990 as an assistant production accountant on the TV series “Father Dowling Mysteries.” The series was produced in Los Angeles at Universal Studios. Continued working on the Universal backlot as an assistant production accountant until 1995. Favorite TV series wrap gift: “Quantum Leap” (the crew jacket).

1981-1986: Attended the University of California, San Diego and graduated with a BA in Visual Arts.
